Getting to Edinburgh

By road: Coming North: Birmingham is about 5 hours away; Manchester and York, 3 hours; Newcastle, 2 hours. Coming South: Inverness is about 3 hours away; Aberdeen, 2 hours. You are best to check your journey on the RAC or AA websites.

Please note: as with much of Edinburgh, there is NO parking at the conference venue– there are a number of  Pay & Display car-parks around Edinburgh and more information can be found at City of Edinburgh Council: parking in the city

By rail: The main railway station is Edinburgh Waverley. Edinburgh is around 45 minutes from Glasgow Central or Queen Street stations and can be under three hours from York, Newcastle, Inverness and Aberdeen. Edinburgh is around 4 hours from London Kings Cross and there are sleeper services available from London Euston.

By coach: The main bus station is St Andrews Square in Edinburgh’s city centre. Glasgow is around 1 hour and 15 minutes away by coach, Newcastle around 3 hours and London around 9 hours (on the sleeper coach).  The following links may be useful@ CitylinkNational Express, Megabus

By air: The closest airport is Edinburgh International Airport . The airport is about 12km from the city centre. There are frequent airport bus or tram services into the city. There are also taxis available to and from the airport.
