CAA-UK 2015: Bridging the Gap

University of Bradford: 6th – 7th March 2015

The next annual meeting of the UK Chapter of Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA-UK) will be held in Bradford on the 6th and 7th March 2015.  CAA-UK aims to encourage communication between UK-based archaeologists, mathematicians and computer scientists in order to stimulate research and promote best practice in computational and mathematical approaches to the past.

We welcome submissions on any topic within the sphere of archaeological computing; however, given the University of Bradford’s long standing involvement in the archaeological sciences, papers and posters are particularly encouraged that bridge the gap between the scientific and theoretical strands of archaeological computing.

Suggested topics include:

  • Integration of scientific and theoretical methods in computing
  • Pattern recognition
  • Visualisation & Mixed Reality in Archaeology
  • GIS & geospatial Analysis
  • Geophysics & Remote sensing
  • Photogrammetry & 3D modelling
  • Statistical methods
  • Semantic web
  • Public Engagement.

Abstracts (350 words maximum) should be submitted via the conference website by 16th February 2015.  Any queries regarding the call for papers should be emailed to caa-bradford@b-cap.co.uk.
