Keynote Speaker Announced

We are delighted to announce that the key note speaker at CAA-UK Oxford 2014 will be Dr Mark Gillings (Reader in Archaeology, University of Leicester). He is probably best known for his co-authorship (with David Wheatley) of the widely used textbook on archaeological GIS, Spatial Technology and Archaeology, for excavating at and writing about Neolithic and later Avebury (with Josh Pollard and others), and for his work on bringing together the phenomenological / post-processual and GIS-based spatial approaches to conducting archaeology.

Mark will be talking on “Geosophical Information Systems & Archaeology (Spatial technologies, Psychogeographies, Myth-mapping & Phenomenology 2.0)”. He likes standing stones and video games.
